UX, Research, and Product Strategy for the Third Sector and Tech-for-good
I’m Paul, a UX consultant with a strong foundation in Research and Product Management. For over 20 years, I’ve helped teams design and build digital products across the third sector, education, and tech-for-good.Whether you are a solo founder launching a startup or a large national charity navigating a complex digital transformation, I will bring clarity to the problems you're facing and more importantly, how to solve them.
How I help
Validating ideas: I help you move from ‘we have an idea’ to ‘we have a product’ through wireframing, targeted research, and rapid prototyping
Improving performance: From increasing donor conversion to boosting retention, I use data and research to make products work harder for you and your users
Reducing risk: I build feedback loops into your process via user interviews, accessibility, and usability testing to ensure you’re building the right thing before you invest in development
Recent work
Discovery & UX: Discovery, research and wireframing for The Salvation Army, Anthony Nolan, and Kew Gardens (with manifesto).
Accessibility: Partnering with teams at Google and Microsoft for the Micro:bit Educational Foundation to lead accessibility research, ensuring coding education is inclusive for children worldwide
Optimising growth: Identifying conversion barriers for Oddbox, leading to a 5% increase in signup conversion through A/B testing and user research
Enhancing UX: Optimising fundraising platforms for The Children’s Society to improve digital journeys for donors and supporters
EdTech & Kids: Leading product design for Blue Zoo’s CBeebies companion app and the Hooked on Phonics learn-to-read app
